A Look at LibGuides

Thursday, May 7th, 2015
12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
(Optional Pizza Lunch at noon!)

CDLC Offices, 28 Essex Street, Albany

Sponsored by CDLC’s Regional Automation Advisory Committee

What’s a LibGuide and how are libraries using them? Can they be used effectively to provide your library users with the resources they need?

Join us for an informal afternoon gathering at CDLC to hear how your colleagues are using LibGuides and to share and learn from each other.

We’ll start with an optional pizza lunch at noon followed up by short presentations by: Jane Bentley of Questar III School Library System, Tia Felock of Capital Region BOCES School Library System, Carrie Buff of Schenectady County Community College, and Caitlin Sheldon of Saratoga Springs Public Library starting at 12:30 p.m.

Many CDLC member libraries are using LibGuides effectively as research tools and web sites so from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., we’ll open the floor up to six member libraries in a round-robin style discussion on how they’re using LibGuides.  These 10 minute spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis so claim your spot when registering!  At 2:30 p.m., we’ll finish up with a general discussion and question session.

This program is open to anyone interested in learning more about LibGuides but is not a hands-on workshop on how to develop them.

There is no cost for this event, which is open to all members of CDLC institutions.

Registration is required by  Friday, May 1st.

Due to a limited number of seats, if you register and are unable to attend, please contact Susan D'Entremont at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
