later merged, from the 1830s. Unitarian records include early trustees minutes,

and deaths, and a great many sermons. Since 1956, records include newsletters,
committee reports, etc. as well. A centennial history was published in 1942,
and a sesquicentennial history in 1994.

Holdings: The Schenectady Museum Archives contains manuscript collections, photographs, trade literature, and other materials relating to the history of General Electric and Schenectady. A highlight of the collection is the General Electric Photograph Collection, a collection of nearly 1.5 million images that depicts the development of the electrical industry and 20th century American life. There are also manuscript collections highlighting the founding and early history of General Electric. Papers from Gerald Swope and Owen D. Young, President and Chairman of GE from 1922-1939 and 1942-1944 highlight the welfare capitalism of the 1920s. Other collections highlight the GE Research Lab, the first industrial research laboratory in the world, and its researchers. There are also books and periodicals, including a complete run of the GE Schenectady Works News, the employee newsletter for GE's Schenectady Works. The archives has a growing collection of materials relating to Schenectady, from records of old Schenectady businesses such as the American Locomotive Company to Schenectady High School newspapers and ephemera of the 1920s. The museum is actively working to document the ethnic groups and immigrants of Schenectady.

Holdings: Collection includes papers of the foundresses, including requests from the mid-19th century from New York priests for the services of the Sisters. Correspondence and a common book of Sister Francis Joseph Ivory (1824-1902) document transition from Missouri to New York State in 1858, and a diary by Sister Monica Corrigan details the trek of seven sisters from St. Louis to Tucson, AZ in 1870. Historical materials include statistics, school histories and faculty lists, institutional data for The College of Saint Rose in Albany and St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam; biographical details for both living and deceased sisters, diaries, writings, photo albums, published and unpublished theses and dissertations, a collection of books authored by sisters and papers of the Educational Conference of the Sisters of St. Joseph from 1933. In addition, there are artifacts and historical materials from the foreign missionary work of the Congregation. Finding aids are mainly indexes and a topical card file.
