Documentary Heritage Program Advisory Committee
The Documentary Heritage Program Advisory Committee (DHPAC) works with CDLC to create and evaluate activities to strengthen historical records programs in the region, and to assist in the development of long term goals and priorities for CDLC’s Documentary Heritage Program, in accordance with the guidelines and mandates given by the New York State Archives and Records Administration (SARA).
The DHPAC is responsible for providing guidance and input in the following areas:- Preparation of the annual DHP Grant Application to SARA
- Planning for periodic workshops
- Developing programs based on needs assessment
- Conducting a regular review of such programs
The Committee of ten members may be:
- Archivists and other custodians of historical records
- Representatives of business, of other private or non-profit institutions, and of social, professional, and other organizations, that create historical records
- Local government historians
- Historical researchers
- Educators who use historical records in the classroom
- Local government leaders who are supportive of libraries, archives, museums, or historical societies
- New media personnel
