Event Description This exhibit looks at signature quilts and commemorative quilts as documents that can shed light on many aspects of local history. This exhibit in the gallery adjacent ot RCHS's research library will highlight the museum's quilt collection in a new way. Included will be a 1922 WCTU quilt from Lansingburgh recently acquired by the museum, two quilts made from shirt fabrics that illustrate that major local industry, Troy's Bicentennial Quilt and a "crazy quilt" that incorporates silk ribbons from local organizations. Anewly made Troy Quilt completed in 2005 will be on loan for the exhibition. Related archival collections and research will also be presented.

Music provided by the Sons and Daughters of Liberty Ancient Fifes and Drums Corps playing historical and traditional music programs from Colonial times to Civil War, including fifes and drums, vocals, and folk instruments such as guitars. Homemade pie and coffee and tea available. Harmony Hall has a rich, historical heritage. Built in 1892 as the Farmers' Club, it is now a thriving community center. Proceeds from this event will help build a new roof for the Hall.

Event Description Visitors will tour the library which was started by visitors to Diamond Point as well as some permanent residents. They will view Stoddard's Lake George photos which preserve the flavor and style of the early 1800's and 90's. They provide significant records of hotels and steamboats and depict activities of the summer visitors of tha era. The guidebooks date from the 1870's.

The exhibit will provide a way for people of all ages to discover how Route 9 evolved from wilderness to "million dollar mile." Historic maps and photos will document the many changes that occurred along the route from colonial times through the late 20th century, and artifacts such as Storyland's "Humpty Dumpty" will bring back personal memories of past trips on the road.
