Coordinated Collection Development
Twenty-one CDLC institutions currently receive over $175,000 annually in New York State Coordinated Collection Development Aid (CCDA), which is administered on behalf of the New York State Library by the NY3Rs Councils. The CCDA program promotes regional coordination of collection development in academic libraries by providing annual grants based on enrollment to public and not-for-profit colleges, universities, and community colleges that meet certain conditions. These conditions include constitutional eligibility to receive State aid, membership in a reference and research library resources system, and full participation in interlibrary loan and other resource sharing programs.
CDLC's Coordinated Collection Development Committee (CCDC), an advisory committee to the CDLC Board of Trustees, is charged to develop, implement and evaluate plans and other activities for Coordinated Collection Development within the Capital District Region. The Committee, as a representative of the Council, works with the New York State Library's Division of Library Development and maintains an awareness of coordinated collection development efforts in other parts of the country. The CCDC also sponsors an annual program, open to all CDLC members, that focuses on current collection development issues.
The CCDC coordinates the collection development plans for the CDLC region. Participating libraries are polled annually regarding their subject area responsibilities and any changes are approved by the Board of Trustees. Follow the links below to view the CCD "Guidelines for Resource Sharing" and the subject areas developed by each participating academic institution.
